Children's Program Overview

Classes for children ages two through thirteen are held once a week on Sundays in September through June at the Manny Cantor Center, located on the Lower East Side of Manhattan at 197 East Broadway. We follow the NYC public school calendar and do not meet during holiday weekends or school vacations.

Our Sundays begin with a shared morning meeting for children and their families. Together we sing, play Yiddish games, discuss social justice issues, and enjoy presentations by students.

The students then rotate through three classes that include core (Jewish history, culture, and social justice), Yiddish language, and music/arts.

About once a month, a communal holiday celebration ,inter-generational special event, field trip, or social justice activity takes the place of regular classes. These events bring our community together to learn, celebrate, and take action. Classes often share the projects they are creating in their classes on these occasions.
