Community Service

“I slept and dreamt that life was joy. I awoke and saw that life was service.
I acted and behold, service was joy.” Rabindranath Tagore (1861-1941)

Our community service activities give children and adults the opportunity to give back to their communities and experience the gratification that comes from helping those in need.

Service projects recognize the many communities of which we are a part.

All members serve our shule community, helping to organize events, cleaning and setting up, and offering a network of support for members in times of need.

We serve the larger Workmen’s Circle family through visits and performances that honor and cheer elderly members, and link us to the organization’s history of service.

We reach out to the larger community of New York City in community trips and tzedakah projects for homeless shelters, food pantries, and community gardens.
