MWCS and Workmen’s Circle

Our school is housed by and affiliated with the Workmen’s Circle/Arbeter Ring, a nationwide Jewish organization founded in 1900.

In its early years, Workmen’s Circle played a crucial role in helping Jewish immigrants find their place in American society, and in advocating for economic justice for all.

Now, the organization is building from that history to become a leader in creating a secular Jewish education that affirms and acts on progressive values.

As a Workmen’s Circle “Signature Shule,” the Midtown New York City-based Midtown Workmen's Circle School is part of a growing national network that includes the Boston Workmen’s Circle and the I. L. Peretz Jewish School in Long Island

We are proud to be affiliated with Camp Kinder Ring, the Workmen’s Circle overnight camp in the beautiful Hudson Valley. During our school year, we hold special events there including our bar and bas mitsves. Families are also encouraged to visit Circle Lodge Resort and Retreat Center, the Workmen’s Circle vacation getaway that is side-by-side with Camp Kinder Ring on Sylvan Lake.
